Here is an update on the status of tax season 2021

There have been many changes to the tax laws that came about after our appointments were scheduled and even more changes after many tax returns were already completed. This required us to stop, go back, and review every return that had already been processed but not yet transmitted, to determine if changes were needed.

The IRS has not only been slow with guidance, but also changing their previously issued guidance on how to implement many of these changes. This lack of clear information from the IRS delays updates to our tax prep software which in turn, delays us in completing your return.

Because of the tax law changes the IRS has extended the due date from April 15th to May 17th for individuals. Please be patient, there is no need to call the office, we will call you as soon as we can.

The entire staff here at The Tax Authority is working more hours than ever to try and keep up with the changes and process everyone as quickly as possible.

One thing you can do to help us is to send your documents electronically. Call the office for a link to our secure portal.
