MICHIGAN PANDEMIC UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE (PUA)
Self-employed individuals can apply for benefits Monday April 13 at 8am online at michigan.gov.
If you previously applied and have been denied, login to your MiWAM account to complete the next steps for PUA federal benefits.
All newly eligible workers will need to provide proof of income to receive the maximum amount they are entitled. This could include W-2’s, 1099’s or paystubs. Owners of S Corporations have K-1’s and it is unknown at this time if they qualify.
Those already receiving unemployment benefits have begun receiving the $600 additional benefit.
Newly eligible workers will begin receiving their $600 payments as early as April 20.
UIA will be accepting claims back-dated to reflect the date on which you were laid-off due to Covid-19 and the $600 payment will be retroactive to March 28.
Claimants that experienced technical issues can now login and get connected to the tech team to resolve their problems.
